About Power Connect Solutions

Who We Are
Power Connect Solutions is the product and commercial sales division of Tranex Power — one of Australia's most experienced and trusted power contractors. While Tranex Power delivers large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction projects across the country, Power Connect Solutions exists to bring that same depth of expertise directly to businesses seeking diesel generators, battery energy storage systems, hybrid power solutions, and integrated remote power systems.
When you engage Power Connect Solutions, you are not dealing with an equipment reseller. You are accessing the engineering capability, project delivery experience, and supply chain relationships of an organisation that has installed over 4 gigawatts of power infrastructure across more than 60 projects nationwide.
That is the difference.
The Tranex Power Story
The story behind Power Connect Solutions begins with the Young family and a construction business established in Melbourne's western suburbs in the late 1980s. After decades of growth and success in civil construction, Allen Young relocated the family to Tasmania in 2004, where Tranex was born — continuing a deep commitment to construction and delivery excellence that had defined the family's professional life.
By 2008, Tranex had grown to national scale, primarily focused on the supply and installation of roadside barrier systems. By 2011, the company was delivering major infrastructure works for Tier 1 contractors including BMD, Seymour Whyte, and Winslow Contractors on some of Australia's most significant road projects.
The pivot that would define the next decade came in 2012, when Tranex's civil and mechanical expertise attracted the attention of a leading engineering firm seeking a contractor to install 30,000 piles for Australia's first utility-scale solar farm. Recognising the emerging opportunity in renewable energy, Tranex's leadership invested extensively in understanding the sector — visiting leading contractors and technology providers in the United States and Europe before committing to the industry.
By 2013, Tranex was partnering with major solar EPC contractors including Elecnor, Bouygues Construction, and Downer. By 2015, the company was delivering major scopes on the Parkes Solar Farm — a 66MW project that formed part of the pioneering ARENA-funded program that established Australia's utility-scale solar market.
Over the years that followed, Tranex delivered projects ranging from 2.5MW to 400MW, spanning locations from the tip of Cape York in Queensland to Geraldton in Western Australia, and across regional New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia.
Today, Tranex stands as one of Australia's most experienced power infrastructure contractors, having installed over 4GW of solar capacity across more than 60 projects nationwide. The company has expanded its focus across the Asia-Pacific region, with an unwavering commitment to innovation, safety, and delivery excellence.
Expanding Into Prime Power — The Birth of Power Connect Solutions
Recognising a growing need for reliable power solutions in remote and regional environments, Tranex expanded its capabilities into the Prime Power market. This expansion reflected increasing demand from mining operations, agricultural businesses, construction camps, and remote commercial facilities for specialists capable of designing, supplying, and integrating complete power systems in complex and logistically challenging environments.
Power Connect Solutions was established as the dedicated product and sales channel for this capability — bringing Tranex's engineering expertise, procurement relationships, and project delivery experience to organisations seeking diesel generator systems, battery energy storage, hybrid power solutions, and solar integration for off-grid and remote applications.
Through an integrated in-house delivery model, Power Connect Solutions provides clients with a single-source solution combining engineering, construction, and project management expertise to deliver dependable power systems efficiently and effectively.
Our Vision and Mission
Tranex Power's vision is to set the standard for execution certainty in Australian energy construction — as the delivery partner clients trust when timing, quality, and risk absolutely matter.
Our mission is to deliver power projects with execution certainty through disciplined pre-construction planning, value engineering, vertically integrated project delivery teams, and uncompromising project control.
These aren't marketing statements. They are the principles that have governed every project Tranex has delivered since the 1980s. As the team has always said: we finish what we start, we do what we say, and our word is our bond.

What We Deliver
Power Connect Solutions and Tranex Power operate across four core capability areas:
Diesel and Prime Power — We design, supply, and install diesel generator systems for industrial, commercial, mining, and remote infrastructure applications. From single genset installations to multi-unit prime power stations with N+1 redundancy, we deliver guaranteed, dispatchable power where reliability matters most. Our in-house engineering team provides custom modifications for the harshest Australian environments — including advanced filtration, marine-grade corrosion protection, enhanced sound attenuation, and MDG15 mining specification compliance.
Hybrid Power Systems — We integrate battery energy storage systems with existing or new diesel generation to create hybrid power systems that dramatically reduce fuel consumption, extend generator life, and improve power quality. Hybrid systems designed and installed by our team have delivered fuel savings of 40–60% and generator run hour reductions of up to 50% in real-world remote applications.
Battery Energy Storage (BESS) — We design, build, and deploy battery-led power systems that stabilise energy supply and keep remote or weak-grid sites running. We deliver fully integrated, dispatchable energy systems focused on infrastructure-scale solutions that provide grid stability, resilience, and operational control.
Solar Integration — Through Tranex Power's deep solar EPC capability, Power Connect Solutions can integrate solar generation into hybrid power systems, providing clients with a complete renewable-diesel-battery solution that maximises fuel displacement and long-term energy cost reduction.
Operations and Maintenance — Power systems require ongoing care to perform at their best. We provide fully integrated operations and maintenance services including remote monitoring, performance optimisation, preventative maintenance inspections, and rapid emergency call-out response — ensuring your asset continues to deliver throughout its operational life.
Our Project Track Record
The depth of experience behind Power Connect Solutions is demonstrated across decades of project delivery:
Edenvale Solar Project, Queensland — A 204MW DC project involving the installation of 377,888 PV modules. Tranex coordinated piling, mechanical works, and module installation across multiple simultaneous work fronts, achieving record construction productivity.
New England Solar Project, New South Wales — A 522MW DC utility-scale solar project near Uralla, one of the largest solar farms in the National Electricity Market. At peak construction, over 300 Tranex personnel were deployed on-site, delivering the scope on time despite challenging La Niña weather conditions.
Wangaratta Solar and BESS Project, New South Wales — Full EPC and BoP construction scope for a 39MW solar farm incorporating a 78MWh co-located battery energy storage system, delivered on schedule to a high standard as Principal Contractor.
Forest Glen Solar Farm and BESS, New South Wales — A 110MW solar farm with 180MWh BESS located in Dubbo, delivered ahead of programme with strong alignment between safety, quality, and construction output.
Orange Community Renewable Energy Park, New South Wales — A 6.8MW / 11MWh BESS project integrating Jinko battery units with SMA Central Inverters, incorporating noise reduction design and optimised BESS placement to minimise electrical losses and simplify maintenance.
Mineral Sands Mine, New South Wales — Custom 300kVA prime power solution for a highly corrosive coastal mining environment, featuring advanced air filtration, marine-grade corrosion protection, hot-dip galvanised skid base, and MDG15 mining specification compliance.
Remote Construction Camp, South Australia — Three 500kVA Cummins generator sets with DEIF controllers, a 10,000-litre bunded diesel tank, and a 3,200-amp distribution board, providing N+1 redundant prime power to a remote construction camp operating in temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.
